Hey Grandma! My work friends call me a User Experience Designer, meaning I make sure the apps people use on their phone and computer feel right and look good. I do this during the day at Alarm.com.

Yep, I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from MICA, and it was well worth it, since when I get home I still enjoy designing. Right now I’m working on a few side projects. One is Halfdollar, a simple yet extensive way to manage your money. Another helps people make better decisions, that one is Weiigh. And the other is called FriendsAnonymous and is basically a chat room for people to discuss difficult topics anonymously.

I have some hobbies too, like making music, taking pictures, creating films, and hosting a sort of radio show. I’m also learning Italian and reading about environmental science.

Oh yeah, I found out after art college that I had Red-Green Color Blindness. Ha!

Being RG color blind doesn’t mean I can’t see color, it means that some wavelengths of certain colors are hard to distinguish. What this actually does is help me think about how other people experience the world differently from myself. I wrote an article about how this affects my work as a designer.
